As the cold winter evenings are closing in and Christmas is just around the corner. Here at Arbutus Hospitality, we thought it was the perfect time to discuss Christmas treats.

Christmas is a time where family get together, to spent time with one another its also a time to line those bellies with delicious treats such as the recipes we have below.

We have chosen a few ideas that may send those taste buds crazy:

CHRISTMAS COOKIES

What you will need :

2 1/2 sticks unsalted butter

1 c. brown sugar

1/2 c. granulated sugar

2 tsp. vanilla extract

2 eggs

2 3/4 c. all-purpose flour

1 tsp. baking soda

3/4 tsp. salt

2 c. semisweet chocolate chips

Preheat over to 375º and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper. Get a bowl and beat butter and sugar until it comes fluffy then Slowly beat in vanilla extract and eggs. In a different bowl mix flour, baking soda and salt. Stir into butter-sugar mixture. Fold in chocolate chips. Roll the dough into small balls and place on a baking sheet cook for 10-15 minutes.

MOCHA POTS

What you will need:

200g milk or dark chocolate

with coffee, broken into chunks

300ml pot double cream

1 tsp vanilla extract

2 tbsp crème fraiche

Melt chocolate in the microwave for 2 minutes, stirring halfway through leave to cool a little. Whip the double cream with vanilla until lightly whipped. Fold in the melted chocolate until fully combined. Ready for serving.

MULLED WINE

What you need :

Red wine

Cinnamon

Star anise

Cloves

Lemon zest

Sugar

Put the red wine, cinnamon, star anise, cloves, lemon zest and sugar in a large pot. Cook on a low heat for 10 minutes

leave to infuse for 30 minutes.

To serve, heat without boiling.
